Heaven is the Place
It is with a heavy heart that NYNO Records announces the death of one of its most charismatic and talented artists, Maestro Raymond Anthony Myles Sr. An extremely popular and beloved New Orleans Gospel performer, choirmaster and music teacher, Raymond was shot and killed on the evening of October the 11th, in an apparent car-jacking incident.
His 1997 album "Heaven is the Place" was recorded live at two historic New Orleans churches and captured his inspiration, power and love of God like never before. It is scheduled for re-release this spring, complete with new packaging and two bonus tracks. Make sure you sign up for our free newsletter if you would like to be notified.
NYNO Records extends its condolences and sympathies to Raymond’s family and colleagues at this difficult time.
The family has asked well-wishers to send donations to the Raymond Myles Fund c/o Liberty Bank and Trust 3801 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.
Mayor Marc Morial has proclaimed October 19, Raymond Myles Memorial Day.
