Joshua Feigenbaum: Bio

Joshua Feigenbaum, co-founder and president of NYNO Records, is a recognized media pioneer and directs MJI Broadcasting, a company he began in 1980. MJI produces syndicated radio programs that reach more than 15 million listeners each week on almost 2,500 music stations.

When Feigenbaum developed "Rock Quiz" in 1981, it was the first and only nationally syndicated show that combined programming and promotion. The success of "Rock Quiz" led to the creation of several more quiz shows and other short-and-long form programming for radio.

Known in the broadcasting industry for his innovative approach to crafting original and commercially viable programming, Feigenbaum has developed a wide variety of radio programs and services including: "Today's Rock Fax," "Alternative Rock Fax," "Hollywood Interview Service," "Classic Cuts" and "Brunch with Roberta Flack." MJI is also the official radio broadcaster for the Country Music Association Awards. In addition, MJI is known as an innovator in interactive media since the debut of its new web-site services including RockNews.com, RockDaily.com and CountryNow.com.

In addition to his work at MJI, in Spring of 1996 Feigenbaum started NYNO Records, an independent record company based in New York and New Orleans. He decided to start NYNO Records because of his love for New Orleans music and roots -rhythm and blues - recognizing that the music in America stems in large part from the music of New Orleans.

Feigenbaum is a graduate of Rutgers University. He began his career at Rolling Stone magazine, then moved to the record business as director of artist development at Arista Records. Later, he joined DIR Broadcasting, where he produced the acclaimed long-form radio show "The King Biscuit Flower Hour." He was the publisher of "Not The New York Times" and co-authored "Rock Quiz - Brainteasers for the Rock and Roll Know it All."

Feigenbaum says about MJI, "We're on a very dynamic growth curve, we're adding more services and programs, and we have people on board whose work does involve media outside of radio. We're looking at acquisitions as well as other businesses to grow into. The best is yet to come."
